I grew up there, and everywhere I flew--including my tiny mountain hometown--I truly felt like I was there. Blackpool itself looked very nice with Blackpool Tower nicely modelled, but the autogen buildings in the area were not very realistic. The real landscape is mostly devoid of trees, just like it is in reality. As long as they get the few lakes in the right places and the Missouri river in the northeast corner of the state there would be nothing to complain about.
Only that there's an alternative and some people prefer it. . Even the 'mountains' around the bays, were like stone 'twinkies'. My favorite flights were in a police or medevac helicopter — low over the river, barely above beautifully crafted bridges. Just my thoughts on the matter. Actually this is the main feature which makes flying during those times of the day so enjoyable for me. Flying around Seattle Sometimes I fly military aircraft and this scenery is handling low-level high speed flights very well that is an advantage of a landclass scenery over high resolution photoscenery.
That's a pity about not being able to buy it direct. West Wind is a small private strip owned by Douglas Davis. Smaller Vashon Municipal is located close to Seattle on an island in Puget Sound. They are very nice on frame rates. Again: Is the Ice land demo compatible with the airport scenery Keflavik X from Aerosoft? And even in it's early stages, it's looking great Of course, I am biased.
The mesh layer did nothing for the mountains, unless in Iceland, in real life, they are all merely over-grown lava flows that are blunted, have no true peaks and dells, no craigs, no defining forms of any kind. A key landmark near Newcastle is the Angel of the North, in reality it is quite big, but took some finding in the scenery even with using a map. There are 4 kinds of airports in Pacific Northwest scenery. I have been there, in fact I lived there for a while many years ago. However, using Pilot's Aerodrome Flattening Mesh utility I got rid of the plateau and lowered the airport to the same elevation as the surrounding terrain. I rarely flown above Seattle. I bet P3Dv2 is a lot of steps ahead in terms of feel As far as hardware goes, am still on a 660ti so it would be good to go for a 780 i guess.
